Founded in 1495, Aberdeen is one of Scotland's ancient universities, based in the north-east coastal city of Aberdeen. It is a broad research university with particular strengths in energy (including oil, gas and energy transition), law, business, medicine and computing. Most undergraduate degrees follow the four-year Scottish honours structure.

Undergraduate: Sri Lankan A-levels: BCC for business, arts and social sciences (B where good performance in a subject is required); science needs two science subjects (or science and maths); engineering needs B in maths plus physics, D&T, engineering or chemistry; Medicine AAA. ABB+ (AAB for Biomedical Science, AAB with A in maths and physics for engineering) may allow direct entry to Year 2.
Postgraduate: Four-year Bachelor's special degree from a recognised university; 55-59% is treated as comparable to a UK 2:2. Business School programmes need a degree at UK Honours level equivalent.

Scholarships

The Aberdeen Global Scholarship gives new self-funded international on-campus students £6,000 off tuition every year of an undergraduate degree (2026/27 and 2027/28 entry) or an £8,000 tuition waiver for a taught master's; it is applied automatically to eligible students.
