Your learner profile uses a GEC email-and-password account followed by mandatory verification through your own authenticator app.
Use the GEC authenticator step
On first access, GEC gives you a private setup key. Add it to Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password or another standards-based authenticator and confirm the current six-digit code.
Protect recovery methods
Store the ten one-use GEC recovery codes privately. Never send GEC a password, authenticator setup key or one-time code. Support will not ask you to read a current code over phone, email or chat.
Sign out on shared devices
Use the GEC Sign out control, which clears both the password-authenticated session and the website’s 2FA session, then close every browser window.
